About the Role

The Information and Digital Group at the University of Warwick is seeking an experienced Apple and Jamf engineer to lead our Apple platforms consisting of 4500 macOS, iOS and iPadOS devices.

This is a varied, busy and rewarding role as part of a wider End User Devices team servicing the university in research, teaching and professional services areas.

For details on the experience and skills required, please refer to the job description (link here).

About You

You will be an experienced and proactive engineer/manager with a strong interest in Apple technologies and modern endpoint management. You will be comfortable supporting and developing macOS and iOS/iPadOS services within a large and diverse organisation.

You will have practical experience of technologies such as Jamf Pro, Jamf Connect and Jamf Protect as well as Apple School Manager, automated device enrolment, configuration profiles, application packaging and deployment, scripting and endpoint security.

We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and improving the way services are delivered. You should be comfortable using automation and scripting, to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

You will work collaboratively with engineers across Windows, Linux, identity, security and infrastructure services, so strong communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge are as important as technical expertise.

You do not need to know every technology we use. We are looking for someone with strong Apple platform knowledge, sound engineering principles and the ability and enthusiasm to learn.

About the Department

The End User Devices team within the Information and Digital Group is responsible for the technologies and services that enable staff and students to use university-managed devices securely and effectively.

The team supports a large and diverse endpoint estate spanning Windows, macOS, iOS/iPadOS and Linux, using modern management platforms and automation to deliver secure, reliable and user-focused services.

You will join a multi-skilled engineering team working across areas including device management, operating system deployment, application delivery, endpoint security, automation and the ongoing development of modern device-management services.

For the Apple estate, you will help develop and improve services based around technologies such as Jamf Pro and Apple School Manager, while working closely with colleagues responsible for Microsoft Intune, Windows and Linux platforms.

The team is continuing to modernise its approach to endpoint management, giving you the opportunity to influence how our Apple services evolve rather than simply maintaining an established service.
