The Warwick Mathematics Institute is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and develop key areas across the department. This varied role oversees doctoral programmes, the Mathematics Research Centre, the Mathematics Outreach Centre, departmental facilities, and strategic projects. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will lead operational teams, drive continuous improvement, support future planning, and help provide an excellent environment for research, learning and outreach. This is a broad role, and no two days will look the same. It would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to busy environments, solving problems, and working with people to make things better.

About You

You will be an experienced manager with a track record of leading teams, delivering projects and managing competing priorities. Comfortable operating both strategically and operationally, you will build strong relationships across a diverse range of people and communicate effectively at all levels.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and adaptable, with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience of project management in a higher education or similar environment, managing budgets and using data to inform decision-making will help you succeed in this role.

Warwick Mathematics Institute is a world-leading department within a globally renowned university, recognised for excellence in research, teaching and collaboration. Alongside our historic strengths in pure mathematics, we have an expanding portfolio of applied mathematics and host a vibrant programme of seminars, workshops and conferences.

The department is supported by a friendly Professional Services Team of around 30 staff, providing expertise across finance, taught and research student support, outreach, and the Mathematics Research Centre (MRC), which delivers a large programme of academic events.
