This is a varied and busy job which requires a proactive attitude towards work and problem solving, a strong commitment to providing an excellent service to both students and staff and an ability to plan ahead to organise workload effectively.

Our undergraduate Design Studies programme was launched in 2024-25. The courses aim to train a new generation of designers to think critically about global problems such as human rights, environmental impact, technological and digital advancement and to consider practical, design-led solutions to those problems.

The courses focus on Design for Sustainable Innovation and seek to develop students’ as ethical, responsible ‘agents of change’ who are equipped with the technical knowledge, practical skills and systems thinking expertise to lead on the development of creative and effective ideas and solutions that will ensure a sustainable and regenerative future for all.

A key feature of the courses is that students will be immersed in ‘real-life’ contexts, co-designing with regional communities and working amongst well established and emerging employers.

A joint postgraduate course in MASc Design for Sustainability is planned to launch in 2026-27.
