This is a unique opportunity to join Warwick Biomedical Sciences as its Technical Services Manager, leading the Biomedical Sciences Technical Support function that works across 2 sites - one at Gibbet Hill Campus and the other at the Clinical Sciences Research Laboratories at UHCW. For details on the experience and skills required, please refer to the job description. About You

You will be an experienced technical services leader with a strong track record of managing laboratory-based teams, specialist facilities and scientific infrastructure within a complex research or higher education environment.

 

You will combine sound knowledge of laboratory health and safety, statutory compliance and governance with the ability to plan strategically, manage budgets and competing priorities, and deliver practical improvements to services, systems and equipment.

 

A collaborative and credible communicator, you will be confident working with staff, students, senior leaders, professional services and external partners, while developing people, supporting change and fostering a positive, inclusive and safety-focused culture.

Warwick Biomedical Science’s mission is to advance world-class discovery science with an interdisciplinary approach to unravel the fundamental mechanisms of physiological and pathological processes; develop pioneering diagnostic and preventative technologies; and deliver ground-breaking treatments for a healthier future for all.

 

Our research is grouped into the following disciplines:

  • Cell and Mechano-Biology Discovery research with a focus on cytoskeletal self-organisation, membrane dynamics and tissue mechanobiology. Investigators in this theme form the core of the University-wide Centre for Mechanochemical Cell Biology.
  • Host-Pathogen Interactions Discovery research and innovation focussing on pathogenicity factors and host machinery involved in infection and new approaches in diagnosis, prevention and immunity.
  • Reproductive Biomedicine Discovery, translational and clinical research into gametogenesis, implantation, miscarriage, endometriosis, labour and birth with investigators forming the core of the Centre for Early Life and cross-cutting WMS programme in Women’s Health
